Jacaranda turned  publishing house in 2003. We aim to publish a small but strong list.

Our first author, Kiran Khalap, is, in his own words - a “non-menopausal” Indian male;who has been a teacher,an advertising copy writer, a CEO, a winner of the Indo UK short story competition in 1997 and a journalist. His literary debut, Halfway up the Mountain, is the story of Maya, a village girl whose life is inter-twined with men of exceptional talent.

The UK and US rights for the book have since been bought by Marion Boyars, in the UK. The book was formally launched at the Nehru Centre, in London, on 22nd June 2005. The Turkish rights have recently been bought as well.
