Books@Jacaranda set up in 1997, is a full service literary agency, working with first time as well as established writers covering the entire range of activities associated with successfully placing a manuscript. In 2008, the agency expanded to open a branch in Singapore.
The Better Man by Anita Nair, and Night of the Krait by Shashi Warrier were amongst the first successes. Anita Nair has since been a mentor and friend.
Mission Statement:
We value relationships we build with our writers and publishers, and we place value in nurturing these relationships. Our mission is as simple as our philosophy. We want writing from India, Singapore and the subcontinent to become accessible globally. Simply put, we want our writers' word to become their published word.
OUR TEAM
Jayapriya Vasudevan, Singapore resident for the last few years, set up Jacaranda twelve years ago to work with first-time authors and manage their work in a professional manner. Jayapriya has worked in the publishing industry for over twenty years. It's the only profession she would choose
Helen Mangham, began her career at Curtis Brown Literary Agency in London. She then spent a number of years working as a Publicity Consultant to various UK publishing houses, advising on all aspects of book promotion including; drafting press releases, coordinating author publicity tours, organizing launch events and setting up interview schedules. She has lived in Singapore since 2005. Helen will help look after and expand Jacaranda's Singapore list
