SUBMISSION
Send us your work! Your initial query letter may be sent to info@jacaranda-press.com with the details of your work: the genre (fiction/non fiction etc), the intended audience (adult, young adult, child etc), a brief summary of the work, and a brief note about yourself. A response from our team will indicate when, where and how the submission can be made.
How to format your manuscript
Font Use Times New Roman, point size 12, line spacing 1.5). Number the pages in the centre of the footer.
Title page This should have nothing but the title of the book, the name of the author and contact details, with an email id. Include details of the intended audience, and the approximate word count.
Author bio About half a page about the author.
Synopsis Include a one or two page summary of the manuscript.
Copyright information Every page of your manuscript should have the following in 8 pt text, top SUBMISSIONS right of page: author name, © title, year.
Chapter breakdown Include chapter numbers, chapter headings (if any) and a five to ten line summary of each chapter in the manuscript.
We only accept submissions by email. Send us the manuscript in MS Word (.doc) or PDF format. Zip and email it to the address indicated in our response to your initial query.
Electronic copies of any manuscript not taken on for representation will have to be destroyed, but gently.
Manuscripts are read in the order in which they are received. It could take between twelve to fifteen weeks for us to get back to you with a decision from the point in time that an editor begins reading. Timelines could vary, depending on the volume of manuscripts with us at any point in time.
